About the role

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma from a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant program (e.g. combination OTA/PTA Program) required.
  • Current BLS certification required or willing to complete within 3 months of hire.
  • Must have knowledge/experience with mobilizing and positioning patients.
  • Must have knowledge/experience of various mobility aids (high walker, Rollator etc).
  • Must have knowledge/experience working with neurologically impaired patients
  • One year of acute care experience preferred
  • Must have excellent working knowledge of the English Language, both verbal and written.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to build and maintain good relationships with patients and families.
  • Must be able to provide support to a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must be able to prioritize and organize duties, and work well independently.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of bending, transferring, assisting and supporting patients.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Satisfactory attendance record.
