The Position

We are looking for a motivated, hands-on, and eager-to-learn Electrical Engineering Helper (Co-op) to join our Electrical Shop team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience working alongside licensed electricians and skilled automation professionals while contributing to the build of advanced automated manufacturing systems. You will develop valuable technical skills, gain exposure to industrial electrical practices, and play an important role in bringing innovative automation solutions to life.

What You'll Be Doing

Learn to interpret and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings Assist with pulling wires through conduct and the installation of conduit systems, including threading, bending, cutting, and assembly Support the fabrication, assembly, and installation of electrical components into control cabinets Assist with the Engineering calculations such as short-circuit current rating or panel heat loss/cooling Provide electrical assistance during the various stages of integration Work alongside licensed electricians and seek guidance to overcome technical challenges Assist with electrical assembly and wiring activities while following safety and quality standards Participate in project builds to help ensure scheduled milestones are achieved Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding project status and potential delays Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in shop and build areas Work and collaborate in a team environment, actively participating and engaging in group meetings Ensure deadlines are met, notifying the appropriate departments/stakeholders if milestones are delayed or at risk Maintain a strong corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse Corporate Vision Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business Complete other duties and projects, as assigned

What We're Looking For

Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in automation and industrial electrical systems Ability and willingness to learn new technical skills in a hands-on environment Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Familiarity with electrical schematics and wiring principles is considered an asset Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software is an asset Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn Students should be enrolled in a post-secondary academic program requiring a co-op/work term
