The Daniels Corporation is actively searching for a Data and Reporting Analyst to join the IT team in the Toronto office. Reporting to the Business Process Newstar Manager, this detail-oriented and technically skilled analyst will have strong experience with SQL, FileMaker, and dashboard/report creation to help drive data visibility and decision-making across the organization. Experience with Newstar Constellation is a significant plus.

This role will work closely with various stakeholders to understand reporting needs, design data workflows, and create user-friendly dashboards and databases/datasets that enable data-driven insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements into clear data solutions
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries and FileMaker databases to support business processes and reporting needs
  • Design and build interactive dashboards and visual reports using tools like Power BI or FileMaker layouts
  • Train users on various programs and processes
  • Configure and maintain automated workflows within Newstar, including email notifications triggered by key system events or actions, to ensure timely communication and process efficiency
  • Create and maintain clear, user-friendly guides and documentation to support data reporting processes and end-user adoption
  • Assist in data integration between systems, especially involving Newstar Constellation if applicable
  • Manage report distribution and user access permissions to ensure secure, organized, and role-appropriate availability of reporting tools and dashboards
  • Establish and maintain organized folder structures and file management protocols to ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and version control of reports and data assets
  • Oversee CIRA training allocations and completion
  • Collaborate with departments such as Accounting, Finance, Sales and Operations to gather data and reporting requirements
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all dashboards and reports
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requests and provide insights to key stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in a data analyst, reporting analyst, or similar role
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (writing, optimizing, and debugging queries)
  • Hands-on experience with FileMaker (creating, maintaining, and optimizing databases)
  • Experience creating dashboards and visual reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or FileMaker
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, proactive and curious

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Newstar Constellation or other real estate/homebuilding ERP systems
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., FileMaker scripts, API integration, Python, PowerAutomate)
  • Experience in the real estate, homebuilding, or construction industry is a plus
