About the role
Scope
- This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely movement of materials and finished products throughout the facility. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the press team to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document daily pre-operational inspections of forklifts and material handling equipment
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to support press operations and production flow
- Restock presses with required materials and arrange plated stampings in designated storage areas
- Remove stamped parts from presses and transport finished goods to staging or shipping areas
- Organize, return, and maintain bins, racks, and material storage locations
- Ensure lift truck maintenance, servicing, and reporting requirements are met in accordance with company standards
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work area to support a safe manufacturing environment
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and production teams to identify and resolve material flow or equipment issues
- Operate barcode scanning systems and print labels accurately and efficiently
- Follow all workplace health and safety guidelines, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Provide general administrative and secretarial support to management as assigned.
- Support and practice KAIZEN principles and participate in related activities (GEAR).
Requirements:
- Hold a valid propane forklift certification with proven experience operating a counterbalance lift truck
- Experience operating overhead cranes is required; valid overhead crane certification is considered an asset.
- Demonstrate a minimum of two (2) years of forklift or material handling experience (preferred)
- Demonstrate basic math skills for counting, inventory handling, and material verification
- Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production setting
- This role is a Day shift position
This job posting is for an existing vacancy. The total cash compensation range for this position is expected to be:
$21.14 - $34.09
