As the Leader, Business Strategy you will be responsible for driving and overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of strategic initiatives and robust performance measurement within Calgary Transit. You will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless coordination of resources, optimizing service delivery, and enhancing the overall performance of Calgary Transit's operations. Primary duties include:

  • Drive transformative projects critical to Calgary Transit's service excellence.
  • Lead performance management and complete hiring coaching and mentoring.
  • Provide comprehensive strategic and project management support to reporting staff.
  • Oversee planning, budgeting, and execution of all facets of strategic projects, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team in Calgary Transit, and the Senior Leader of Business Strategy.
  • Ensure collaboration across all divisions within Calgary Transit, other departments, and business units.
  • Manage relationships with both internal and external partners, including industry groups, provincial and federal governments and other pertinent parties related to projects.
  • Lead critical aspects of projects to ensure they are successfully executed and aligned with objectives, and strategic imperatives.
  • Support creation and delivery of reports to Calgary Transit's Senior Management team, Committees of Council, and Council as necessary.
  • Deliver risk registers, unfunded project identification, and corporate accountability reports to Council.
  • Collaborate with project managers and partners to ensure consistency with Calgary Transit's business unit objectives, targets and prioritize key initiatives.
  • Provide strategic subject matter expertise to guide the planning and implementation of programs, ensuring alignment with overall goals and seamless integration with existing operations.
  • Evaluate and prepare submissions for One Calgary Service Plans and Budgets, and related budget adjustments.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Public Administration or a related discipline and at least 8 years of experience in areas such as strategic planning, leadership, project management, budget management, reporting and performance optimization.
  • Experience in a direct supervisory role is required.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • Experience supporting teams to deliver on strategic objectives, ensuring quality and collaboration would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines, think strategically and lead and implement change.

Location: 928 32 Avenue NE

Compensation: Level P4 $123,400 - 154,300 per annum

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day

work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
