POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Service Delivery, the Cultural Support Worker will be responsible for setting up weekly cultural/traditional workshops for the Eagle Urban Transition Centre clients.
KEY ACTIVITIES:

Setting up cultural workshops on topics relevant to cultural and spirituality.

Contacting workshop presenters/Knowledge Keepers to provide cultural workshops.
-
Drafting up informational posters on upcoming workshops.
-
Contacting and following up with clients who have signed up for workshops, to confirm their attendance.
-
Tracking records of workshops completed, names and contact information of participants, including sign in sheets, bus ticket distribution, ordering snack food, ensuring materials are on hand for workshops.

Creating and continuous update a “Calendar of Workshop Activities”, posting and distributing.

Booking the EUTC common area for workshops.
-
Assisting at the Eagles Nest Youth Program as required.

Ability to function effectively as a team member.

Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of First Nation’s cultural values and traditions.

Experience interacting with a diverse group of individuals.
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently and co-operatively as part of a team.

Must be punctual, dependable, reliable, keep confidential information private and be well organized.
-
Be able to follow directions and follow up.
-
Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.

Must have a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check, and Clear Child Abuse Checks
