Posting Period: Posted Until Filled To provide direct professional nursing care for patients requiring complex mental health services. Utilizing the principles of the nursing process, the RN will implement autonomous nursing actions to ensure that services provided promote positive patient outcomes. The RN, in partnership with the patients and their families and in collaboration with the clinical team, will coordinate and support the patient’s journey toward maximum independence and wellness.
Skills And Qualifications Required
- Current, unrestricted registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- BSc.N. preferred.
- Must have recent experience in an acute psychiatric setting.
- Must have current CPR certification.
Position Responsibilities
- Completing a nursing history based on information received from the patient, family and other sources.
- Developing and recording a comprehensive goal oriented nursing care plan in collaboration with the patient based on assessed needs and prescribed medical regime.
- Developing therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Accurately following the prescribed medical regime.
- Recognizes, analyzes, interprets and manages deviations from the predicted client response.
- Revising nursing care plans based on evaluation using professional judgment and autonomous decision-making.
