JOB PURPOSE

The Physiotherapy Supervisor and/or Clinical Leader is responsible for supervising the provision of physiotherapy services

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapist of New Brunswick and eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
• Must have progressive related work experience one year in which leadership ability and competency as a physiotherapist have been demonstrated.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision:

• Monitor staff cover, assign and review work, participate in recruitment
• Provide staff orientation and coordinate staff development programs
• Order, monitor and manage inventory, source and recommend equipment and prepare new equipment proposals
• Develop and/or ensure compliance with standards, policies and procedures
• Coordinate or participate in student placements
• Perform the work of a physiotherapist

And/Or

Clinical Leadership:

• Ensure services provided by professionals are consistent with the professional scope of practice and regional policies and procedures
• Provide clinical support, guidance, and advice to professionals and to management regarding clinical practice.
• Make recommendations on development of professional services/programs, methods and processes to improve services
• Participate in formal clinical research
• Coordinate or participate in student placements
• Performing the work of a physiotherapist
