About the role
Foothills School Division is seeking a dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our FSD Therapy Team. We currently have a 0.7 FTE (28 hours per week) temporary position available.
The Occupational Therapist will provide occupational therapy (OT) services to referred students within collaborative, inclusive environments. This position requires the therapist to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to support students with identified needs ranging from mild to severe. This role requires the delivery of universal, targeted and individualized supports both in and out of the classroom. Additionally, supervision, collaboration and guidance for Educational Assistants is required.
This position provides service to all schools within FSD. The incumbent must be available to work during a typical school year (late August - end of June) and travel to schools throughout the division.
This position requires a degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized university and the successful candidate must be registered or eligible for registration with ACOT (Alberta College of Occupational Therapists) or CAOT (Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists). In addition, a minimum of two (2) years experience supporting students with occupational therapy delays/disorders and collaborating with classroom teachers is preferred. Previous experience with K-12 students is considered an asset.
