Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced leader to oversee and guide our landscape maintenance crews. As a Landscaping Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction, while fostering a high-performing team environment.
Candidates with experience in residential landscape maintenance will be best positioned for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
Team Supervision:
- Manage and lead landscape maintenance crews, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Assign tasks and oversee the completion of daily work schedules.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards.
Operations Management:
- Plan and prioritize landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, pruning, fertilization, and pest control.
- Monitor project progress to ensure deadlines, quality standards, and budget requirements are met.
- Conduct routine site inspections to assess maintenance needs and identify areas for improvement
Client Interaction:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly.
- Provide recommendations for property enhancements and landscape improvements.
Equipment and Inventory:
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and inventory of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Ensure proper use and storage of equipment to prolong its lifespan
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, employee schedules, and site conditions.
- Prepare and submit reports on crew performance, project status, and expenses.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with Salisbury’s Health and Safety Program and company policies.
- Enforce the use of protective gear and safe work practices.
Qualifications
- Background in horticulture or a related field is considered an asset
- Experience working in and running residential Landscape crews is preferred
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance and crew supervision
- Strong knowledge of landscaping practices, tools, and equipment
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret landscaping plans and specifications
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and three years of personal insurance
