Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager, International Lead Management and Conversion in the International Education Centre, the International Lead Management and Conversion Officer supports international recruitment/marketing and provides administrative support for the Lead Management and Conversion team. The International Lead Management and Conversion Officer assists with meeting international student enrolment targets for Algonquin College.

Under the direction of the Manager, the incumbent generates and converts leads through hosting information sessions, attending events both on and off campus, daily inquiries and student advising. The incumbent converts visitors on Algonquin College International digital properties (website, social media platforms etc.) to leads using electronic communications (e-mail, CRM, SMS, social media posts, etc.).

The incumbent develops and optimizes lead nurturing programs from requests received through our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, social media, email, phone calls and walk-in inquiries from potential students and their families for the International Education Centre. The incumbent assists with front desk coverage as needed.

The incumbent is required to have good knowledge of college programs and services, knowledge of foreign education systems and Canada immigration policies. They must have good communication and customer service skills as this is a highly customer service-oriented position. Experience with CRM platforms, student information systems, email automation and social media management systems and is required for this position.

The incumbent represents the IEC at recruitment events - open house, information sessions and fairs - for prospective learners by presenting relevant information on how to become an international student.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment, Lead Management and Conversion

    • Interacts with potential students in real time through virtual and in-person channels, participating in conversations to answer questions, and offer program advice to potential applicants and their families;
    • Meets with students, parents and other clients to promote Algonquin’s program and facilitate applications to contribute to enrolment goals;
    • Nurtures leads in Salesforce;
    • Manages and dispatches inquiries received through the IEC lead format and other adhoc inboxes as required;
    • Acts as the host/co-host for virtual webinars and delivers presentations to promote Algonquin College to prospective international students;
    • Replies to inquiries received through social media (Facebook, Instagram,Twitter), and maintains a relevant presence posting information, updates and promoting college events;
    • Supports on-campus applicants with submission of their international application as needed.
  • Student Advising

    • Advises prospective and second program students on program options, availability and admission requirements. The incumbent also meets with registered students and advises them on changing programs or applying for a second program;
    • Schedules appointments to meet with level one international students who are looking to withdraw from the college during the withdrawal period of 10 days at the start of term for each intake and guide students in making a decision, whether it is withdrawal, deferral or program change;
    • Provides information about college resources available to current and new students.
  • Administrative Support

    • Performs administrative duties for the smooth operation of recruitment activities, including but not limited to, filing, updating and keeping track of documents from applicants and students on Salesforce;
    • Develops processes to facilitate updates for onshore and offshore recruitment teams;
    • Maintains weekly productivity statistics such as email volume, student meetings, emails and phone calls.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) year diploma Business, Marketing;
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Inside Sales and/or Customer Service experience with demonstrated experience in problem solving and exercising sound judgement;
  • Knowledge of College programs and services, knowledge of foreign education systems and Canada immigration policies;
  • Experience with CRM platforms, email automation, social media management systems and student information system is required for this position;
  • Experience with international students, and/or international marketing, recruitment and/or admissions would be considered an asset. Salesforce and/or WordPress knowledge and RISIA certification will also be considered assets;
  • A second language is considered an asset.
