Position: Event Coordinator
Number of Position(s): One (1)
Position Type: Full Time Non-unionized (35 Hours/Week: Monday to Friday) 8-week term
Language: English required. Bilingualism (English/ French) considered an asset.
Reports to: Program Manager
PURPOSE
The Event Coordinator is an 8-week term position supporting Ottawa Salus through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role supports the planning and execution of fundraising events in collaboration with the philanthropy and communications team and the philanthropy committee. The position provides hands-on experience in event coordination, donor engagement, and non-profit fundraising.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Event Coordinator will support a range of fundraising and event-related activities, including but not limited to:
Event Planning and Coordination:
- Support event logistics, planning, and execution of fundraising events
- Coordinate auction planning and assist with soliciting auction items
- Liaise with staff, volunteers, and third-party vendors
Fundraising and Donor Support:
- Assist with donor data maintenance and organization
- Support fundraising initiatives and related activities
Marketing and Communications:
- Research potential sponsors and assist with updating sponsorship materials
- Create social media content and marketing materials to promote fundraising events and initiatives
Committee and Team Support:
- Attend philanthropy committee meetings and support related activities
- Collaborate with the philanthropy and communications team on event-related projects
General Duties:
- Complete other fundraising and communications-related tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must meet eligibility requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program and Ottawa Salus pre-employment requirements
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a certificate or degree in event management, fundraising, marketing, or a related field
- Experience with event planning (non-profit experience is an asset)
- Experience with Canva or other graphic design platforms is an asset
- Experience with Eventbrite and donor databases is an asset

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
