Role Description

The Senior Project Engineer/Senior Technical Specialist (Nuclear) is responsible for providing technical leadership and engineering support across complex projects. This role involves overseeing technical deliverables, supporting project execution, and acting as a key point of contact for internal teams, customers, and suppliers. Working closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams, the Senior Project Engineer will lead technical problem-solving, ensure compliance with project requirements, and contribute to the successful delivery of engineering projects.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Project Support

Provide technical oversight and support across assigned engineering projects Act as a key technical point of contact for internal teams, customers, and suppliers Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve technical issues and support project execution Support and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on priorities and timelines

Engineering Design & Documentation

Develop and review technical documentation, including design requirements, FMEAs, and design plans Prepare procedures, operation manuals, test plans, and technical specifications Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure compliance with requirements Support design verification and ensure requirements are met

Project Execution & Coordination

Support planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of project activities Provide technical input for procurement, requisitions, and subcontracted engineering work Participate in design reviews and present technical information to stakeholders Contribute to project reporting, including status updates and progress tracking

Manufacturing & Operations Support

Support manufacturing and assist in resolving non-conformances and engineering changes Provide technical guidance for assembly, fabrication, installation, and commissioning Assist with testing strategies and execution for design verification

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

Support QA processes including non-conformances, corrective actions, and change management Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives Support health & safety and regulatory requirements within project execution

Qualifications

Post-secondary degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field P.Eng designation (Ontario) preferred 7+ years of experience in a relevant engineering or manufacturing environment 3+ years of relevant nuclear industry experience Strong technical knowledge across manufacturing, assembly, quality, and project coordination Proven ability to manage complex technical challenges and deliver solutions Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and lead technical aspects of projects

Salary range: $115,000 – $140,000
