About the Role
Levitt-Safety is looking for an experienced Senior Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing BC team. In this role, you’ll service and inspect a wide range of fire and life safety systems across residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial customer sites throughout the region.
We’re ideally seeking a fully endorsed ASTT Fire Services Technician with certifications in Fire Alarm, Fire Extinguisher, Emergency Lighting, and Sprinkler systems.
You’ll work with a wide range of clients - from three-story walk-ups to high-rise residential and commercial towers, transportation hubs, warehousing complexes, institutional facilities, and care homes - helping them stay safe and compliant.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where confidence, technical expertise, and professionalism are essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs of fire alarm systems and equipment according to CAN/ULC Standards.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on fire alarms, extinguishers, sprinklers, and emergency lighting systems.
- Troubleshoot system deficiencies and support repairs or corrective actions as required.
- Document all inspections, repairs, system impairments, and testing per ISO standards and ASTT requirements.
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure timely, accurate work.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours support.
- Take part in health & safety initiatives, including JHAs and safe work practice reviews.
- Being the face of Levitt-Safety to our customers, listening to and addressing their safety needs.
Job Requirements
- Post-secondary education in fire protection (preferred).
- Valid ASTTBC/RFPT endorsements in Fire Alarm, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, and Sprinkler systems required, along with current CFAA certification.
- Minimum 5 years in the fire safety industry, with at least 2 years as a Senior Technician preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus comfort with technology.
- Working knowledge of NFPA and CAN/ULC Standards and Codes.
- Ability to pass security clearances for site access.
- Ability to meet customer site access requirements, including pre-access drug and alcohol testing where required.

This role primarily works daytime weekday hours with participation in an after-hours on-call rotation.

You will support a strong safety culture and service team by being a part of regular safety meetings, ensuring adherence to safe work practices, and proactively identifying and addressing hazards. This role models safe behavior, works closely with the Quality team to uphold service standards and contributes to incident prevention and continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Must be capable of performing all physical tasks associated with technician duties, including lifting and carrying of weights up to 50lbs unassisted, reaching above shoulder height, bending, crouching, kneeling and working on ladders.
- Frequent walking throughout buildings and customer sites as well as climbing up and down stairs, and standing for extended periods
