#Position Overview
As Cabot Cape Breton’s Talent & Culture Generalist you will act as a hands-on, department-facing leader, actively supporting and administering all areas of Talent & Culture engagement across the organization. The position will include support to recruitment and employee onboarding processes, the development and implementation of Occupational Health & Safety initiatives and statutory/regulatory compliance as well as Cabot’s local and global employee training, engagement and recognition programs.
Core Competencies/Key Functions:

Handle sensitive employee information with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with employment legislation and organizational standards.

Support the development and administration of Talent & Culture employee recognition and engagement programs.

Support payroll and benefits administration, including tracking enrollments, eligibility changes, and responding to inquiries from our team members.

Participate in recruitment efforts through attendance at job fairs, monitoring job postings, overseeing application screening, interviews and developing talent pipelines.

Track recruitment progress, onboarding milestones, and program participation, maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date records.

Support basic employee relations inquiries and administrative matters, escalating complex or sensitive issues as needed.

Provide backup support across Talent & Culture functions during peak periods, seasonal operations, or team member absences.

Contribute to Talent & Culture projects and operational priorities that support departmental success.

Collaborate closely with other members of our Talent & Culture team to ensure clear role alignment and seamless handoffs.

Provide administrative support to other Cabot properties as required.

Gather employee feedback related to programs, onboarding, recruitment, engagement, and safety initiatives to support continuous improvement.

Contribute to Talent & Culture projects and initiatives that enhance employee experience, safety, and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications:
- CPHR designation or HR Diploma preferred
- Business diploma or related experience
- Health & safety courses an asset.
- 3+ years experience in Training & Facilitating
- 3 years Recruitment experience
- 3-5 years directly related experience
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Highly responsible & reliable
