We are looking for a certified journeyman electrician who demonstrates a strong aptitude and interest in the full scope of facilities maintenance. You will be essential to maximizing operational uptime across our 200,000 sq ft manufacturing plant, ensuring our complex equipment, infrastructure, and facility systems are safe, efficient, and impeccably maintained.
What You Will Do:
- Execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery
- Utilize detailed schematics, test equipment, and troubleshooting methodology to rapidly diagnose and repair failures in electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Proactively maintain, inspect, and repair critical building infrastructure, including pneumatic systems, HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, and general lighting systems.
- Perform overhauls, installations, and ongoing preventative/predictive maintenance on specialized woodworking machinery, ensuring peak performance and alignment.
- Respond promptly to all maintenance requests, effectively communicate status updates, and work cooperatively with the Maintenance Supervisor and team to optimize overall facility function.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Provincial (e.g., OH&S), Federal, and Corporate health and safety policies and guidelines, meticulously following lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures and electrical codes.
What We're Looking For:
- Journeyman electrician certification is an asset
- Proven expertise in industrial maintenance with a strong background in electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- A genuine interest and ability to perform a broad range of comprehensive facilities maintenance duties beyond core electrical tasks.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance processes, methods, and hands-on proficiency in operating a variety of hand and power tools, and aerial work platforms (man lifts).
- Solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, in addition to expert knowledge of electrical systems.
- An energetic, enthusiastic, and highly organized approach to work, with the proven ability to solve technical problems independently.
- Willingness to do overtime when required.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and service provider interaction.
