Varnish Impregnation - Plant
About the role
DUTIES
- Directs and performs the varnish impregnation process of both large and small coils with the he when required, this includes both department 9 and 18
- Final check of all coils, frames, packing etc. before varnish
- Final visual check on all coils for varnish
- Prepare varnished coils for core and coil assembly
- Maintain cleanliness of Varnish and Oven System - empty trays when required, replace grate
- Heating coils in oven if required
- Perform induced and ground testing before varnish (when needed)
- Prepare coils for varnish & heating coils in oven if required
- Placing them in vacuum and impregnation tanks
- Draining of coils and placing in oven to bake
- Dips coils following specified practices
- Sorts coils and deliver to storage area
- Required to maintain an adequate supply of varnish, thinners, and other necessary material
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have good knowledge of coil construction, core construction, coil supports etc…
- Must be familiar with vacuum tanks, dip tanks, drying ovens, varnish trucks, cranes & forklifts
Full-time Hourly Starting Rate - $28.22 Shift and Premium Pay Available:
$1.00/hr. – Afternoon shift premium
$2.50/hr. – Dedicated trainer premium
$3.00/hr. – Shift advisor premium
Full range - $26.01 - $35.87 – as per the collective agreement"
