Position Overview:
As a Project Associate within our Building Restoration Consulting Team, you'll play a vital part in delivering outstanding service and solutions to our clients. You'll be immersed in a collaborative environment and gain hands-on experience in a range of project phases while representing Sense Engineering with a level of professionalism and dedication that sets us apart in the industry.
General Responsibilities:
- Attitude: Exhibit a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team spirit. Take ownership of your work and focus on providing solutions.
- Marketing: Represent Sense Engineering professionally, building positive relationships with clients, contractors and other consultants.
- Knowledge Development: Enhance your understanding of building science, life cycle analysis and costing while sharing insights and lessons learned with the team.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Assist in building evaluations, site reviews, and investigations.
- Support project coordination and contribute to successful project delivery.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure seamless communication.
- Prepare evaluation reports, construction documents, and project proposals.
- Represent Sense at client meetings and other networking functions with a commitment to exceptional service standards.
- Other duties as assigned/required.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Restoration Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Good working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client-centric mindset.
- Team player who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation required.

- Base Salary Range is $65,000 to $80,000 (commensurate with experience).
- This position is eligible for profit sharing bonuses based on company and individual performance, increasing the estimated total compensation range to $70,000 to $90,000.

• Depreciation reports for stratas and reserve fund studies for condominiums • Warranty reviews for stratas and performance audits for condominiums • Due diligence reports for multi-residential, commercial, industrial and hotel properties • Capital planning reports for multi-residential and commercial properties • Structural design for new buildings, additions and renovations • Seismic evaluations and upgrades • Structural feasibility studies for new buildings, additions and renovations • Compliance and peer review for structural work • Design assistance to architects, developers, contractors and owners • Guidance on detailing, product and material selection, durability, maintenance and expected service life • Thermal and hygrothermal simulations of the enclosure assemblies – for long-term performance, LEED, energy code compliance • Existing building energy analysis, including ASHRAE-level audits • Building envelope scenario modeling and payback analysis for new construction and existing building renewal initiatives • Asset resilience and future-proofing, including calculating life cycle cost and energy.
