What You'll Be Doing You’ll be joining CIBC’s Fixed Income (Capital Markets Technology) team . You’ll lead complex projects to design strategic solutions aligned to CIBC’s enterprise architecture roadmap. You are a Sr. Business Systems Consultant, with extensive experience in Capital Markets, specifically within Fixed Income and Swaps.. This role is ideal for a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates initiative, and is committed to delivering results. You will be expected to independently manage projects, engage with stakeholders at all levels, and work closely with developers and other BAs to deliver innovative, scalable solutions.   • Evolving Requirements Management: Collaborate with business partners to gather, analyze, and continuously refine complex requirements. Take ownership of the entire requirements lifecycle—including business, solution, implementation, testing, and support—ensuring alignment with project objectives and scalable design principles.
  • Architecting Scalable Data and System Flows: Map and document system and data flows to uncover opportunities for scalable solutions. Apply strategic thinking to both immediate needs and long-term architecture, ensuring that designs support future growth and adaptability.
  • Innovative Solution Design: Prepare and validate solution design documents with a focus on creativity and innovation. Leverage emerging technologies and forward-thinking approaches to deliver efficient, client-centric solutions that drive business value.
  • Leading and Mentoring: Act as a subject matter expert by guiding technology and project teams, facilitating stakeholder meetings, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment. Provide mentorship and leadership to ensure project success and professional growth across the team.
  • Growing Business Knowledge & Building Internal Capabilities Continuously expand your understanding of the business domain by integrating technology, business strategy, and innovation. Proactively learn and apply best practices to develop robust internal services and processes, driving operational excellence and supporting the organization’s growth objectives.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience with 10+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst in Capital Markets, with hands-on exposure to trading, settlements, risk, and regulatory environments. Proven ability to manage projects independently, including stakeholder management and coordination with developers and business analysts. Strong SQL expertise for complex querying, data analysis, and driving data-driven decisions. Skilled in drawing technical flows and process diagrams to clearly communicate solution architecture and system interactions. Demonstrated experience in gathering requirements, building test cases, and acting as a technical BA—proactively identifying and delivering out-of-the-box solutions. Understanding of back-to-back trading rules and operational frameworks that support efficient, compliant trading processes. Experience in systems integration, application upgrades, and migration projects. Must have hands-on experience with FIX messaging and similar protocols. Proven experience working with regulatory bodies (e.g., IIROC, MiFID II) and senior leaders across multiple groups. Experience with trading applications or middleware is essential; direct experience with Bloomberg TOMS (or similar fixed income trading apps), Impact, ADP, Arrow, APA Module (or similar regulatory reporting apps) is highly valued. It is an asset if you have programming skills (Python, Java). Familiarity with Tableau and/or Alteryx for advanced data analysis and visualization.
