Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Underground Maintenance Electrical Supervisor, you will be part of the Electrical Maintenance Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

  • Perform installation, calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance on all instrumentation component such as gas sensor, level sensor, water and air flowmeter, etc.
  • Perform Instrumentation troubleshooting and emergency repair on equipment and components such as PLC, VFD, door controller, BCU, control panel, scanner, etc.
  • Perform PLC programming and troubleshooting for all UG instrumentation control system.
  • Perform equipment and component installation on IMagine system platform.
  • Having ability to read and interpret supplier schematics, drawings and parts manual to perform installation, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair task.
  • Perform basic installation, maintenance and troubleshooting with communication components such as leaky feeder, blasting line and Docsys system.
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on Automation system with Mobile equipment and infrastructure system in place.
  • Evaluate project, create drawings, maintenance and procedure on Instrumentation and electrical task.
  • Work with a CMMS (JDE) to ensure good workflow process and communication.
  • Coach co-workers in any type of task related to the Underground Instrumentation Technician duties.
  • Follow supervision formula and keep high standards in health and safety.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Underground Certification or equivalent such as Mining Modules or Common Core.
  • 2+ years of experience as an underground instrumentation technician or, 5+ years of experience as an underground electrician.
  • Electrical journeyman license, Red Seal, or any qualification certificate is considered an asset.
  • Electrical troubleshooting knowledge with fixed and mobile equipment is considered an asset.

Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
