Our first product is a robot for children with movement disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, and it allows kids to walk, in many cases, for the first time in their lives. About The Job Trexo Robotics is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Sales to lead the growth of our Trexo Devices business in Canada, with expansion opportunities into global markets. As the first leader in this function, you will establish the sales foundation, define strategy, and drive execution to accelerate adoption of our life-changing mobility technology.
You will lead and mentor a small, high-performing sales team while remaining actively engaged in key customer and partner relationships. Collaborating closely with Marketing, Customer Success, and Operations, you will shape our go-to-market approach, optimize performance, and ensure alignment across the organization to deliver sustainable growth.
This position can be hybrid in our office in Mississauga or fully remote.
About You You are a strategic sales leader who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment with analytical, adaptable, and execution-focused mindset. You bring proven experience navigating complex sales cycles, particularly within healthcare, insurance, and government programs. You lead with empathy and purpose, motivated by meaningful impact as much as by results. Your approach combines strategic thinking with operational rigor and a continuous improvement mindset.
What You'll Do Hands-on Sales Execution & Market Expansion
- Lead and scale the sales for Trexo Home Devices, achieving sales targets and expanding market presence.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building strong relationships with prospective customers and referral sources.
- Identify and build partnerships with insurers and funding programs (e.g., ADP funding and school boards programs).
- Oversee and manage international sales via network of distributors.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and coach a small sales team, supporting their success through regular feedback and performance tracking.
- Establish clear performance metrics, coaching frameworks, and accountability practices.
- Monitor sales metrics and prepare regular reports and forecasts for senior leadership.
Sales Strategy & Infrastructure
- Create and implement strategic plans to drive sales growth in Canada.
- Design and implement a comprehensive sales playbook and performance metrics to optimize funnel management and conversion.
- Optimize sales operations, including pipeline management, CRM usage, and reporting workflows.
Market Insights & GTM Optimization
- Working closely with Head of Marketing and conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
- Represent Trexo at conferences and events to strengthen brand presence and generate new opportunities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in sales or business development, preferably in medical devices or assistive technology.
- 4+ years in a leadership role managing and scaling small to mid-sized sales teams.
- Demonstrated success in B2C and relationship-driven sales.
- Deep understanding of healthcare funding systems and reimbursement processes (e.g., ADP, insurance).
- Experience implementing or optimizing CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong operational discipline and analytical mindset.
- Willingness to travel across Canada as needed.
- Experience with insurance claims/ medical reimbursements process.
