About the role
The Business Development Manager of Mining Products is responsible for developing, promoting, and selling the Aspen’s mining equipment trailer products to end users in the mining industry. The role combines technical selling, business development, market analysis, and product leadership. This individual works directly with mining customers to understand their operational needs and provide trailer solutions. Main Responsibilities Develop and execute a sales strategy for mining equipment trailers within assigned markets or territories. Identify new business opportunities with mining companies, contractors, and industrial haulage operators. Build relationships with decision-makers across operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, and management. Generate leads, qualify opportunities, and maintain an active sales pipeline. Prepare quotations, proposals, and commercial submissions in coordination with internal teams. Assess customer applications, payloads, route conditions, site constraints, and operating requirements. Translate customer needs into trailer specifications and recommended solutions. Collect market intelligence, competitor activity, and customer feedback to support product line development. Coordinate with service, warranty, and parts teams to support customer needs and protect relationships. Maintain accurate records of opportunities, customer activity, forecasts, and market information in CRM or internal systems. Attributes and Skills Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand equipment applications and customer operating conditions. Ability to sell value-based solutions rather than price alone. Strong negotiation ability. Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Ability to build trust and credibility with both operational and executive-level customer contacts. Strong planning, organization, and CRM. Experience and Education Post-secondary education in business, engineering, heavy equipment technology, or a related field is preferred. Five or more years of experience in technical sales, product management, account management, or business development in a related industrial market. Experience with trailers, heavy haul, mining equipment, transport equipment is strongly preferred. Experience selling directly to industrial end users is an asset. Working Conditions Combination of office, travel, and customer site work. Frequent travel to mines, industrial facilities, customer offices, and trade events.
