Opportunity

Reporting to the Corporate & Community Engagement Officer, the Tour Alberta Assistant is responsible for supporting the growth of our exciting community initiatives and events through building relationships, cultivating new opportunities, and enhancing stewardship and community engagement as an ambassador for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

Note: This is for a temporary, summer contract with the Alberta Cancer Foundation. This role is funded through Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. How You'll Contribute

  • Acting as a liaison and supporting The Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer throughout the summer months

  • Leading in direct solicitation of donors and sponsors; supporting volunteers in their fundraising activities on behalf of the Foundation

  • Data entry to ensure Tour donor and participant records are up to date and accurate in our database, Classy.

  • Handling event proceeds in accordance with Foundation Cash Handling and Reconciliation policies and procedures

  • Providing administrative support by drafting correspondence, preparing reports, presentations and updating spreadsheets

  • Providing customer support to donor, participants, and volunteers

  • Acting as event staff at the Tour Alberta for Cancer event (July 18-19) and the Official Training Ride (July 20-21)

  • Assembling Tour packets and distributing them

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • A proven track record of success and demonstrated knowledge of fundraising, in particular event fundraising and some demonstrated early success or exposure to relationship-based or peer-to-peer fundraising

  • Knowledge of the overall fundraising best practices, CRA regulations and charitable gift receipting guidelines

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail, and ability to be able to respond quickly, on time and manage frequent interruptions while working on multiple projects

  • An out-going personality, a flexible schedule, and a desire in your heart to make a difference

  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service and confidently engaging with clients by phone

Required Qualifications

  • Since the Government of Canada has funded this job through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, applicants must be between the ages of 15-30 and legally entitled to work in Canada. This includes Canadian Citizens, permanent residents, or persons on whom refugee protection has been conferred. International students are not eligible.

  • Enrolled in or have completed post-secondary studies in a relevant discipline, including Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Communications and/or a combination of education, experience and training acceptable to the Foundation

  • Experience working with volunteers and events is preferred

  • Clear Background Check

  • Valid Driver’s License

This posting will close on Monday, April 20, 2026, or until a suitable candidate is found.

This grant program is an anticipated sixteen (16) weeks of employment between May - September 2026.
