Job Description About the Position: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, experienced and qualified candidate to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Manager Governance, Strategy and Risk.
Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, this role is responsible for managing corporate governance, customer services, risk and procurement as well as coordinating Integrated Planning and Reporting requirements.
The position ensures the effective operation of administrative and governance functions and is responsible for ensuring that the Shire meets all legislative, statutory, policy and performance obligations.
A full position description can be found here: Manager Governance, Strategy & Risk About You Our ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Governance/Business/Commerce/Law or similar relevant area with significant experience, preferably at a senior level, in local government governance environment.
You will have a comprehensive knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995 and associated Regulations and a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation in an efficient manner.
Highly effective interpersonal, leadership and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise multiple projects to meet strict deadlines with other conflicting priorities is also essential for this role.

Desired Skills And Experience Working for the Shire of Broome means you will enjoy:
- Base salary range between $130,000-$140,000 per annum (depending on qualifications, skills and experience).
- In addition to base salary there are generous Location and Housing Allowances (up to $31,885) and employer matched superannuation.
- Travel Leave Reimbursement up to $2,500 pa
