The Corporate Services and Policy Division is seeking a results-oriented, visionary leader for the role of Director, Budget and Reporting.
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, the successful candidate will:
- Provide leadership for developing and evaluating the ministry’s annual operating budget and capital plan ensuring they directly support and are aligned to the ministry’s strategic plan;
- Support the ministry’s executive team to provide excellent fiscal management through preparation of comprehensive monthly forecasts and timely identification of risks and opportunities;
- Provide management oversight for the preparation of accurate and complete financial reporting that includes consolidation schedules and third-party fund financial statements; and
- Develop and communicate policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls exist to safeguard public resources.

- In-depth knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards and government financial management policies and procedures;
- Superior analytical and execution skills, combined with clear proficiency in evaluating issues, offering alternatives and creating solutions;
- Ability to break down structural and functional barriers encouraging sharing of resources and knowledge throughout the organization to solve complex issues;
- Ability to build commitment through collaboration, consultation and consideration of citizen and stakeholder impact and seeks out opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement; and
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with, and influence, a variety of stakeholders.
