We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Quality Control Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our suppliers’ products and processes, playing a key role in vendor evaluation, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will collaborate closely with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and customers to drive excellence in product quality and overall supply chain performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to Supply Quality Manager
  • Prepare and maintain thorough quality control plan for all production stages of active product categories
  • Receiving inspection
  • Gauging and inspection methods
  • First article inspection
  • In production inspection
  • Part finish inspection
  • Packaging inspection
  • Loading & cargo securement inspection
  • Create material testing plans and review and approve test reports
  • Prepare form, fit, function tests of finished products and submit reports
  • Ensure all required documentation supplied by vendors is reviewed and stored accordingly
  • Report all vendor quality concerns and prepare deviation requests when applicable
  • Provide support for corrective actions and problem-solving resolutions
  • Ensure implementation of all preventative actions to eliminate defective products
  • Evaluate and qualify all potential future vendors
  • Responsible for creating quality control processes with all new vendors
  • Act as primary contact on all Vendor and Customer quality and technical concerns; ensuring all issues are communicated accordingly
  • Participate in customer’s APQP / PPAP meeting
  • Ensure that conflict and productivity issues are managed directly, constructively, and professionally in all circumstances
  • Utilize appropriate TQM tools and quality problem solving techniques to maintain the product quality
  • Track, calculate sigma level, and maintain statistical report of company’s quality performance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or significant related experience.
  • Minimum of five (5+) years of varied supply chain and quality assurance experience in the manufacturing and automotive sector
  • Self motivated team player with demonstrated problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with volume production processes including forming, welding, stamping, machining, casting
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly both with the written and spoken word.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and handle multiple tasks with little or no supervision to produce a quality product in a timely fashion.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment, working through issues and achieving resolution to challenging problems with little or no supervision.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to be productive, positive and pro-active in a stressful work environment, by prioritizing work and adapting to changing work demands.
  • English language fluency - verbal and written required.
