The Opportunity

We are seeking a Joint Venture Accountant who will be responsible for the full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for the Grand Rapids Pipeline Limited Partnership (GRP), a joint venture asset. Reporting to the Manager, Internal and External Reporting, this role ensures accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, supports equity accounting, and liaises with partners and other stakeholders.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare and post journal entries for Grand Rapids, White Spruce, and Marketlink assets.
  • Complete equity pick-up calculations.
  • Compile monthly results for the Financial Reporting team.
  • Develop and deliver the monthly financial statement reporting package for the partners.
  • Assist in analyzing the balance sheet and income statement for consolidated financial statements.
  • Prepare backup documentation for equity investments to support financial statement notes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual audited financial statements for the statutory audit.
  • Prepare monthly cash calls and monitor distributions to partners.
  • Analyze cash flow statements and support forecasting activities.
  • Prepare Marketlink FERC reporting and assist with the annual variable toll true-up for Grand Rapids.
  • Support the Tax group by preparing legal entity financial statements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance joint venture accounting processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and JV partners to ensure compliance and transparency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field
  • CPA designation or progression towards
  • 4+ years’ of experience in accounting, preferably in joint venture or pipeline operations
  • Strong understanding of equity accounting and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in D365 and Excel; experience with financial reporting tools is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
