Reporting to the Converting Operations Manager, the Converting Operations Lead (2-Year Contract) is responsible for assigned lines in Converting including safety, compliance, productivity, and cost. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership throughout the mill to drive improvements in Converting and to create real long-term value for the mill and for Kruger Products.
What You Can Expect
Lead the operational group consisting of hourly team members in Converting. Provide leadership through effective utilization Lean Manufacturing and World Class Leadership. Lead the drive for improvement in all areas of Operations Excellence including compliance, environmental health and safety, reliability, production, costs, quality, and capital projects. Drive improvement in safety behaviors, systems and results to reduce risk resulting in an injury free machine, department and facility. Lead the department to achieve and maintain compliance with Mill and Kruger Products Safety Compliance Standards. Drive reliability improvements in Converting to improve safety, quality, productivity, and operating costs. Learn and apply the Reliability elements to drive results. Lead and develop team members to improve capability and performance. Utilize performance reviews to drive improvements. Lead the development, prioritization, and implementation of a long term improvement strategy (people, processes, equipment and capital) for Converting
What We Expect
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical etc.), Pulp & Paper or related field is an asset.
Post Secondary Education
Experience leading an operational group in a manufacturing operation, preferably tissue paper manufacturing Experience working in a unionized environment preferred Strong interpersonal skills to coach, teach, and lead teams effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong presentation skills. Expertise in troubleshooting operational and technical challenges. Strong understanding of tissue paper manufacturing and principles of supervision. Familiarity with CMMS, SAP, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software. Integrity, teamwork, accountability, problem-solving, and customer focus. Accomplished change agent with extensive experience in organizational change management

The starting range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 or higher, depending on your experience.
