Reporting to the D&S Canada Regional QEHS Manager and the NFTC Program Director and working in close collaboration with DND (end-user), this role ensures compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and airworthiness requirements governed by DTAES for the Harvard aircraft fleet. The NFTC QEHS Manager is responsible for implementing, evaluating, and continuously improving the integrated Quality, Environment, Health, Safety (QEHS) Management System at NFTC operations.
The role we are offering you:
- Make decisions and recommendations governed by CAE policy
- Lead a multidisciplinary group—including Quality Specialists, an HSE Specialist, and a Document Management Specialist
- Drive sustainable process improvements, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence aligned with ISO standards and airworthiness requirements
- Coaching, training, and facilitating process development
- Managing audits and improvement initiatives, and establishing KPIs aligned with local, regional, and global objectives
- A strong focus on employee engagement and cross-functional collaboration is essential to success
- Other duties as required.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Ability to lead diverse teams, drive change, and foster a culture of safety and quality
- Skilled in aligning QHSE initiatives with organizational goals and regulatory frameworks
- Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective, sustainable solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels
- Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or on a valid Work Permit.
- Capable of obtaining and maintaining both Controlled Goods and a Government of Canada NATO SECRET security clearance.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with CANEA.
- Microsoft Office 365
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality, HSE, or Compliance roles, preferably in aviation, manufacturing, or defense sectors

Certification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards (Lead Auditor certification is an asset)
-
Strong knowledge of Canadian regulatory requirements and DTAES airworthiness standards
-
Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects
-
Proficiency in data analysis, KPI development, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
-
Eligibility for Controlled Goods Program and ITAR compliance
As a condition of employment, candidate must successfully pass a security evaluation per the requirements of the Controlled Goods Directorate of Canada and to CAE being able to obtain all necessary re-transfer authorization in compliance with US ITAR regulations.
