Position Summary
The Senior Analyst, Category and Shopper Development will focus on creating actionable insights to drive long-term category growth through prioritized initiatives. This role will support customer and portfolio segmentation, while also analyzing category growth drivers to enhance external narratives. Additionally, the analyst will develop performance metrics for Shopper Marketing initiatives, aligning them with key KPIs to measure success effectively.

A day in the life of a Senior Analyst, Category and Shopper Development:
Drive Category Growth:

  • Conduct analysis and provide insights to support customer and portfolio segmentation.
  • Summarize the shopper and customer environment to enhance category growth narratives.
  • Support the team on key projects to unlock category growth aligned with category drivers.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with commercial analyst teams on growth pool projects.
  • Connect analytical findings to the business context to identify clear opportunities and actionable steps

Embedding, Leading Change and Build Capability:

  • Develop and share scorecards, insights, and key findings related to category leadership projects, assessing scalability and ROI.
  • Provide training to team members and stakeholders on new data sources, tools, and processes relevant to Category Leadership.
  • Improve efficiency and access to insights by recommending automation of tools, collaborating with the digital team on future enhancements.
  • Source and provide packaged solutions for category opportunities that leverage core fundamentals.
  • Support e-commerce analytics by analyzing shipment and Point of Sales (POS) results by customer/category and Data Partner SPOC (Stackline, Amazon Vendor, LDIA, Key Customers)

What will make you successful?

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of combined sales and analytical experience, with at least 2 years in an analytical role, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively across commercial teams.
  • Experience on commercial business teams such as Marketing Analytics, and background in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) are key assets.
  • Proficiency working with Neilsen Discover is required
  • Experience with Shopper Data (Shopper Intelligence, Numerator) and retailer data sets (LDIA, Circana, etc.) experience is an asset.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to extract insights and formulate recommendations.
  • A proactive self-starter with strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex priorities while adhering to strict deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Post secondary education in Business Administration with a focus on Sales, Marketing, or Finance
