Starting Salary

$8,196.30 per assigned course consisting of three workload hours. The rate for any courses requiring fewer or greater hours shall be prorated based on this standard.

Duties:

Teach one or more of the following Geography course sections, which includes the preparation and delivery of lectures, assessments and evaluation of students and provision of student support during office hours. Other opportunities may arise with other Geography courses in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 which the successful applicant would be considered for.

GEOG 100 Geographies of the World (one section face to face) T/Th 11:30-13:00
GEOG 101 Environmental Geography (one section face to face) T/Th 14:30-16:00
GEOG 328 Geographic Information Systems (one section face to face) M/W 8:30-10:30

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.

Required Qualifications:

A Master's Degree in Geography, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. In lieu of a Master's degree, applicants with a Bachelor's degree and a GIS credential and 5+ years of professional experience are encouraged to apply.

Recent experience in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the relevant subject areas; and demonstrated excellence in teaching.

Record of engagement in scholarly activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

A doctoral degree (or ABD) in Geography, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Priority will be given to those with teaching competencies in Geography or Environmental Studies. Experience with integration of Indigenous perspectives and a commitment to innovative teaching practices and technologies into the curriculum are highly desirable.
