Our expectations

The assistant dispatcher supports the dispatcher by performing administrative tasks to maximize vehicle and delivery efficiency, while effectively balancing customer requirements and complying with Highway Code standards.

Your role:

  • Take charge of the dispatch office's day-to-day operations (e-mail, telephone);
  • Follow up with customers on out-of-stock products and special orders;
  • Correct orders accurately;
  • Inform various departments of problems and take corrective action;
  • Participate in incident and accident investigations and declarations with the various departments;
  • Follow up on equipment maintenance and repairs (Quebec only);
  • Complete invoicing in the system, upon return of deliveries;
  • Maintain various registers on a daily basis: delivery, road safety, and any other information deemed relevant;
  • Replace dispatcher when absent;
  • Perform other related tasks as requested

What we're looking for:

  • Ability to efficiently schedule, route and coordinate deliveries;
  • Knowledge of RONA policies and procedures for receiving and delivering orders;
  • Knowledge of major streets in a designated area;
  • Knowledge of building materials and related products;
  • Ability to prioritize and react to situations quickly and appropriately;
  • Communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Attention to detail.
