We’re looking for strategic, self-motivated M&A Associates to join our team in Toronto.
As a M&A Tax Lawyer at KPMG Law LLP, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that create value for clients across industries. This is your opportunity to lead, innovate, and grow within a national law firm affiliated with one of Canada’s leading professional services organizations.
What you will do:
- Advise clients on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations and other corporate transactions
- Lead tax structuring and due diligence efforts and guide post-transaction integration
- Draft and review legal documents related to tax aspects of corporate transactions
- Collaborate with corporate lawyers, accountants and deal advisors across KPMG Law LLP and KPMG Canada
- Support business development and contribute to thought leadership in M&A tax
- Mentor junior associates and help build a high-performing team
- Deliver practical, client-focused solutions with precision and insight
- Stay current on evolving tax legislation and regulatory developments
What you bring to this role:
- LL.B or J.D. and membership in good standing with a Canadian law society
- At least 2 years of experience in tax law with a focus on M&A transactions
- Proven ability to manage complex files and deliver exceptional client service
- Strong analytical and legal drafting skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Experience in a law firm or Big Four environment
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
- A collaborative mindset and inclusive approach to leadership
