What You’ll Do
- Operational Efficiency: Use cranes, magnets, and rigging effectively to load and unload plates and parts to and from cutting tables, ensuring smooth workflow and minimal downtime.
- Daily Task Management: Perform strapping, grinding, labeling, packaging, and demagnetizing of plates while maintaining clean work areas, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Safety and Compliance: Consistently apply proper PPE and adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to maintain a zero-harm environment.
- Support Coordination: Assist the steel coordinator in organizing and staging parts, demonstrating situational awareness and readiness to support cutting table efficiency.
- Inventory and Housekeeping: Track parts or inventory within the department and maintain station cleanliness through small tasks and housekeeping activities.
- Success Indicators: Success in this role means maintaining operational flow, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting team efficiency with minimal supervision.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
What You’ll Bring Must-haves:
- Crane operation experience or equivalent hands-on experience with rigging and magnets.
- Strong safety mindset with the ability to follow and promote zero harm behaviors.
- Self-motivated with excellent situational awareness and readiness to work.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, grinders, torches, and electrical pallet jacks.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with parts or inventory tracking within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Organizational skills to assist in staging and coordinating parts efficiently.
- Ability to perform housekeeping and maintain clean workstations consistently.
- Familiarity with company policies and procedures related to safety and operational standards.
