We are looking for Community Support Workers (CSWs) to walk alongside adults with complex and diverse developmental disabilities in a supportive home setting. By assisting with daily routines, you will foster independence and strengthen essential life skills. Using a trauma-informed and strength-based approach, you will build trusting relationships, support meaningful choices, and promote self-determination. Available Schedules

• Day (7:30am - 3:30pm) 6 days on, 3 days off

• Evening (3:00pm - 11:00pm) 6 days on, 3 days off

• Overnight Awake (10:30pm - 8:00am) 6 days on, 3 days off

• Temporary Casual (minimum three shifts per month claimed on a first come, first serve basis)

Your Day to Day

• Support individuals in achieving Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals

• Hand-over-hand coach, role model, teach, and encourage the development of healthy daily routines, building independence and participating in activities that enhance quality of life

• Empower individuals to build and strengthen essential life skills in their home, such as meal planning/preparation, personal care, and household management, while promoting independence and confidence

• Support community inclusion by accompanying individuals to appointments, recreation, cultural events, and meaningful community activities

• Foster growth in communication, problem-solving, and social connection using adaptive, strength-based approaches that honour and respond to everyone's communication style/abilities

• Collaborate with Program Supervisors and team members to follow individualized care plans, BSPS, risk assessments, and program materials while adapting support as needs evolve

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of daily activities, progress, observations, and outcomes

• Contribute to a safe, stable, and supportive home environment by assisting with daily tasks while fostering a sense of home and belonging

What You Bring to The Table

• Direct experience working with persons with developmental disabilities in home-based or community support settings

• Diploma or Degree in Disability Studies, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Community Rehabilitation, or related field (asset)

• Knowledge of disability support, Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS) standards, and Community Disability Services (CDS) sector guidelines

• Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and autism

• Understanding and practice of person-centred, strengths-based care

• Unmatched verbal and written communication skills

• Superb technology and documentation skills

Compliance Regulated Requirements

• Active Alberta Class 5 Driver's License

• Clear Alberta 10-year Driver's Abstract (10 years driving experience not required)

• Current Standard/Intermediate First Aid with CPR Level C (Canadian Provider in person or blended)

• $2 Million Alberta Auto Insurance Liability coverage

• Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check obtained in last 5 months

• Clear Intervention Record Check obtained in last 5 months

Regulated Physical Requirements

• Walk and stand for extended periods, including long distances

• Bend, kneel, crouch, and maintain balance

• Work in varied environments, including outdoor and seasonal conditions

• Lift, push, or pull up to 10 lbs occasionally; reach overhead and outward

• Perform fine motor tasks (typing, grasping, holding) and repetitive movements

• Communicate verbally and maintain physical stamina for short and long durations
