Housing and Supports Manager - Term Position
About the role
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Housing and Supports Program Director, the
Housing and Supports Manager
provides leadership to three housing sites:
• Concordia Village IV Mental Health Supportive Housing – Primary Office
location
The Housing Manager provides case-management to 16 clients living within the
integrated supportive
housing apartment block. The role of the Housing and Supports Manager begins
with reviewing the
referral and leading a selection committee. On admission, the manager is
involved in completing the
assessment of the client and creates a Recovery Plan based on such assessment. Assessments are
completed quarterly in consultation with the client. Interventions include
both individual and group
programming and may include referral to community-based programming.
Collaboration occurs with
other service providers (e.g., CMHW, PACT, Home Care, etc.).
• Riverwood House – Transitional Addictions Supportive Housing –The Housing
and Supports
Manager will provide supervision and guidance to 1.2 FTE Housing Support
Workers who are assigned
to clients at Riverwood House. The Housing and Supports Manager will be
involved in the Selection
Committee for intake as the program opens and will collaborate with
Riverwood House’s Navigators to
implement a program plan. The Housing and Supports Manager provides
supervision to the Eden
employees responsible for carrying out the program plan.
• Steinbach Mental Wellness Centre
Provides consultation and supervision to 0.5FTE Housing Support Worker and
0.2FTE Social Worker
offering mental health group programming within apartment living.
Qualifications:
• Education/Certification:
o Graduate of an accredited post-secondary education in Health-Related Social
Sciences (e.g., BSW,
BMR (OT), MOT, BScPN, BN, RPN,). Other relevant educational qualifications and
experience may
be considered.
o Active license and registration to practice as required by professional
association and provincial
legislation.
o Current CPR/First Aid Certification required.
o Formal certification, training or education in leadership and/or management
an asset.
o Certificate in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) an asset.
o Mental Health First Aid an asset.
o Successful completion of relevant continuing professional education in
designated clinical area preferred (e.g., Addictions training, Motivational
Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialetical Behavioral Therapy).
• Experience:
o Previous case management experience required.
o Experience in clinical assessment and intervention preferred (training on
tool to be provided).
o Experience in mental health and/or addictions preferred (understanding of
trauma informed care, harm reduction principles).
o Previous leadership experience an asset.
o Previous experience within supportive housing an asset.
