About the role
Tasks
- Analyze plans and specifications to carry out cost and material estimations.
- Perform quantity take-offs and assess the labor required for fabrication and installation.
- Prepare and write quotes in collaboration with internal teams.
- Follow up on quotes and negotiate prices with clients when needed.
- Compare actual project costs with initial estimates and adjust future evaluations accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and production teams to ensure feasibility and meet deadlines.
- Keep cost and supplier databases up to date to optimize estimations.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of estimation and project management processes.
- Travel to various job sites when necessary.
- Perform any other tasks necessary for the success of projects and client satisfaction.

Job requirements
- Training in estimation, civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project estimation in the field of wrought metals or steel structures.
- Excellent command of French, both spoken and written.
- Proficiency with computer tools, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Experience with estimation and plan reading software.
- Ability to work in the office and travel to job sites when necessary.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit (an asset).
