About the role

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Coordinator, Medical Staff Support.

The Coordinator, Medial Staff Support, is responsible for ensuring effective and timely coordination of key Medical Affairs administrative processes and programs. This includes responsibility in the areas Medical Staff Performance Enhancement, ByteBloc and liaising with NH Medical Affairs, Physician Compensation and key Ministry of Health departments.

Starting salary will be approximately from $58,494 to $73,117 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications
  • Diploma in Business and/or Office Administration plus three (3) to five (5) years progressive administrative experience, or an equivalent of education, training or experience.

  • Completion of a course in medical terminology an asset.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with staff, Medical Staff and the general public in an effective and professional manner.

  • An understanding of Ministry of Health (MOH) and NH contract policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to exhibit tact, discretion and confidentiality when dealing with medical staff and patient/client information.

  • Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing priorities and demands.

  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate excellent time management skills.

  • Excellent ability and comfort working collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Professional telephone manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to anticipate work requirements and organize workload.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, organize and complete work projects without supervision given established priorities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Advanced word processing skills and the ability to type 60 w.p.m.

  • Demonstrated physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook and the use of database applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate related office equipment.
