Your Opportunity Are you an experienced geotechnical engineer ready to take the next step in your career? Stantec is a global engineering consulting firm dedicated to creating sustainable and innovative solutions. We are seeking a motivated Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer (P.Eng.) to join our Calgary team and help deliver impactful projects in our community. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a local team of 50 geotechnical professionals based in Calgary, with additional support from a broader regional team of over 200 geotechnical staff.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Innovative Environment: Leverage cutting-edge tools (UAVs, AI-integrated solutions) and contribute to Stantec’s Innovation Office and Digital Center of Excellence.
- Client Engagement: Build relationships with clients, understand their needs, and deliver tailored solutions.
- Lead and Deliver Projects: Manage and execute small to mid-sized geotechnical projects from proposal through completion, including planning, analysis, reporting, and client communication.
- Technical Leadership: Apply your expertise to complex analyses, mentor junior staff, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Team Management: Lead and coordinate small project teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the advancement of our technical capabilities.
Your Capabilities And Credentials
- Proven ability to manage projects independently.
- Proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills.
- Passion for making a positive impact through engineering.
- Effective communication and collaborative skills.
- Commitment to technical excellence and mentorship.
Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological or Mining Engineering, or Geology.
5–10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related services.
Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA or in eligible for registration if transferring from another province.
Valid Canadian driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
Ability to live and work in Canada.
Residing in Alberta, or willing to relocate.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
