Job Description

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Lead and mentor the Logistics Execution Analysts and Coordinators, driving continuous improvement in logistics processes.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction across the region.
  • Analyze root causes of customer service failures, implementing cross-functional action plans to minimize risks and improve reliability.
  • Oversee transporter performance, working with the Carrier Management team to monitor and enhance day-to-day service quality.
  • Act as the logistics key point of contact for internal and external customers, providing essential support for seamless operations.
  • Drive improvements in logistics execution, identifying and implementing strategies to optimize operations and reduce costs.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with other departments to maintain operational excellence.
  • Develop and track KPIs to measure logistics performance, making data-driven decisions for ongoing process improvements.

Major/Key Accountabilities:

  • Logistics Operations: Manage the logistics operations across the network ensuring compliance to contractual and business requirements and manage the relationship with all carrier partners.
  • TMS Management: Manage implementation, maintenance, execution and optimal performance of CHEP TMS system.
  • Budget Planning & Cost Performance: Participate in planning & management in annual freight spend, achieve financial objectives by managing annual budget expenditures, participate in budget preparation.
  • Freight Payables & Accruals: Manage accuracy, compliance and timeliness in Carrier Freight Payables and Freight Payment process and communicate monthly accruals to finance.
  • Logistics Projects & Cost Saving Initiatives: Identify & leverage the implementation of process improvements that optimize the total network & logistics cost.
  • Carrier Compliance Monitoring: Ensure carriers are operating within Brambles and Transport Regulatory Guidelines or requirements (MTO –CVOR, Insurance, and Clearance Certificate).
  • Carrier Performance Monitoring: Drive Carrier performance to KPIs , develop and implement carrier performance scorecard for ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Contract Negotiations Support: Support the negotiations of carrier pricing and service level agreements with robust carrier performance data.
  • Contract Compliance & Maintenance: Review, update and ensure compliance of all transportation contracts with CHEP best practices and maintain a central repository of all updated contracts
  • Audit & Compliance: Lead compliance to best practices and audit/finance requirements to ensure zero non-compliance in transportation operations.
  • KPIs Reporting: Manage and communicate transportation, financial & sustainability KPIs (Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Annually).
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation: Identify and report any risk within the transportation supply chain in a timely manner and work towards short and long-term solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify & recommend opportunities to improve dock scheduling at plants to enhance appointment compliance, dock utilization and DIFOT.
  • Team Leadership: Conduct performance appraisals and coach direct reports to enhance individual and team performance supporting career growth for key team members.
  • Zero Harm : support Health and Safety Initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business (specialization in Supply Chain/Logistics preferred)
  • CITT or Plog certification desired.

Experience:

  • Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of progressive transportation management experience with a focus on strong leadership and relationship building skills.
  • Experience implementing and analysing network optimization and TMS operations.
  • Demonstrated experience proactively developing and collaborating business partnerships within the organization and with customers.
  • 3 - 5 years in a Management role.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Senior logistician with a solid background in transportation.
  • Demonstrated track record of cost management and efficiency improvement in a complex network.
  • Expert understanding of the Canadian carrier landscape, on a national and regional level.
  • Well-developed oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Develop and present formal briefings and proposals with supporting documentation.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships, developing trust and confidence at multiple levels of the organization. Able to influence without direct authority.
  • Personal: Team leader; demonstrated track record of blending people into teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Office Project.
  • Proficiency in SAP and TMS software applications.
  • Preference to Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification.
  • Able to effectively handle high degree of multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsabilités majeures/clés :

  • Opérations logistiques : Gérer les opérations logistiques à travers le réseau en assurant la conformité aux exigences contractuelles et commerciales, et gérer la relation avec tous les partenaires transporteurs.
  • Gestion TMS : Gérer la mise en œuvre, la maintenance, l'exécution et la performance optimale du système TMS CHEP.
  • Planification budgétaire et performance des coûts : Participer à la planification et à la gestion des dépenses annuelles de fret, atteindre les objectifs financiers en gérant les dépenses budgétaires annuelles, participer à la préparation budgétaire.
  • Comptes à payer et accumulations de fret : Gérer la précision, la conformité et la ponctualité dans le processus de paiement et de paiement du fret du transporteur, et communiquer les gains mensuels au financement.
  • Projets logistiques et initiatives d'économie de coûts : Identifiez et exploitez la mise en œuvre d'améliorations des processus qui optimisent le coût total du réseau et de la logistique.
  • Surveillance de la conformité des transporteurs : Assurez-vous que les transporteurs opèrent selon les lignes directrices ou exigences réglementaires Brambles et des transports (MTO – CVOR, assurance et certificat de décharge).
  • Surveillance de la performance des fournisseurs : Faites passer la performance des fournisseurs aux indicateurs clés de performance, développer et mettre en œuvre une feuille de bord de performance pour une surveillance continue de la performance.
  • Soutien à la négociation de contrats : Soutenir la négociation des tarifs des transporteurs et des accords de niveau de service avec des données de performance robustes des transporteurs.
  • Conformité et maintenance des contrats : Examiner, mettre à jour et assurer la conformité de tous les contrats de transport selon les meilleures pratiques du CHEP et maintenir un dépôt central de tous les contrats mis à jour
  • Audit et conformité : Dirigez la conformité aux meilleures pratiques et aux exigences d'audit/finance afin d'assurer l'absence totale de non-conformité dans les opérations de transport.
  • Rapports sur les ICP : Gérer et communiquer les ICP du transport, des finances et de la durabilité (quotidiens, hebdomadaires, mensuels et annuels).
  • Identification et atténuation des risques : Identifier et rapporter tout risque dans la chaîne d'approvisionnement du transport en temps opportun et travailler à des solutions à court et long terme.
  • Amélioration continue : Identifier et recommander des occasions d'améliorer la planification des quais dans les usines afin d'améliorer la conformité aux rendez-vous, l'utilisation des quais et le DIFOT.
  • Leadership d'équipe : Effectuez des évaluations de performance et coachez des rapports directs afin d'améliorer la performance individuelle et d'équipe, soutenant la progression de carrière des membres clés de l'équipe.
  • Zéro Dommage : soutenir les initiatives de santé et sécurité.

Qualifications :

  • Baccalauréat en génie ou en affaires (spécialisation en chaîne d'approvisionnement/logistique préférée)
  • Certification CITT ou Plog souhaitée.

Expérience :

  • Les candidats qualifiés devraient avoir au moins 7 ans d'expérience en gestion progressive des transports, avec un accent sur de solides compétences en leadership et en création de relations.
  • Expérience dans la mise en œuvre et l'analyse de l'optimisation réseau et des opérations TMS.
  • Expérience démontrée dans le développement et la collaboration proactifs de partenariats d'affaires au sein de l'organisation et avec les clients.
  • 3 à 5 ans dans un rôle de gestion.

Compétences et connaissances :

  • Logisticien principal avec une solide expérience en transport.
  • Un historique démontré de gestion des coûts et d'amélioration de l'efficacité dans un réseau complexe.
  • Compréhension experte du paysage des transporteurs canadiens, tant au niveau national que régional.
  • Compétences orales, écrites et de présentation bien développées.
  • Élaborer et présenter des briefings formels et des propositions accompagnés de documents à l'appui.
  • Capacité prouvée à bâtir des relations solides, développant la confiance et la confiance à plusieurs niveaux de l'organisation. Capable d'influencer sans autorité directe.
  • Personnel : Chef d'équipe; Un historique démontré de capacité à intégrer les gens en équipe.
  • Maîtrise d'Excel, PowerPoint et Microsoft Office Project.
  • Maîtrise des applications logicielles SAP et TMS.
