The EHS Co-op will work with the Utilities safety team to gain both in field and office experience. We are looking for students who are passionate about safety, eager to learn but also brings their own innovative ideas forward.

What You’ll Do Here

  • Operational and divisional support and resource for the EHS Team.
  • Work in conjunction with EHS Advisors to coordinate safety training and orientation.
  • Work to be ahead of the curve in identifying safety trends and patterns.
  • Coordination of safety-related meetings and events, including annual JHSC summit and regular Senior Leadership Team meetings.
  • Support start up package for projects, including all of the appropriate and necessary templates and documentation that will be required for the job.
  • Assist in the administration of EHS Policies, Manuals, Standards, Procedures, Practices and Rules.
  • Ordering and shipping of various supplies and resources needed for project site and yard locations.
  • Assist in site visits and inspections.
  • Organize, monitor and manage statistical data and reports; ensuring all EHS personnel have complete instruction and understanding of the requirements and meet deadlines for reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring To The Team

  • Current student or recent graduate of the Occupational Health and Safety program.
  • Sound computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word etc.
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Sound judgement, utilizing problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Willing to travel with in the GTA as required.
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is an asset.
