Transdev Canada is now hiring a Casual Fleet Mechanic for our Abbotsford, BC location!

This casual position offers a competitive hourly wage of $52.40 and the opportunity to work alongside a skilled and supportive maintenance team.

Your Role

Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs), safety inspections, and annual vehicle inspections. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel injection, suspension, brake, drivetrain, steering, and transmission systems. Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire replacements, lubrication, and equipment servicing. Remove, overhaul, repair, and reinstall mechanical components with minimal supervision. Complete accurate work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records. Conduct road tests and move vehicles safely between work areas to verify repairs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company and safety standards. Identify and report unsafe equipment or conditions and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with team members to share technical knowledge and support fleet reliability. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Your Profile

Red Seal certification as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician, Truck and Transport Mechanic, or Automotive Service Technician. Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement. Air Brake Certification authorizing work on air brake systems. CVIP Inspection Certification, or the ability to obtain it. Air Conditioning Certification, or willingness to obtain within three (3) months of hire. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Certification, or willingness to obtain within three (3) months of hire. Experience repairing and maintaining diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles. Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and maintenance management software. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. A complete set of mechanic's tools. Flexibility to work assigned shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Your Location:

This unionized position is based in Abbotsford, BC. Mix of scheduled and on-call assignments, up to 40hrs per week, based on operational requirements.
