About the role
On behalf of our client, a world-renowned leader in the food manufacturing industry, we are seeking a talented Trade Spend Financial Analyst to join their team in Etobicoke. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a globally recognized organization known for its innovation, quality, and commitment to excellence.
Compensation: 76k - 82k
Bonus: up to 10% Vacation: 3 weeks Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 days at home
General Financial Analyst
- Ability to create complex financial models using Excel or Access.
- Ability to perform detailed analysis of revenues/expenses to identify trends, variances and underlying performance factors.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams to resolve business issues.
- Ability to extract useful/relevant information from various independent financial systems and create comprehensive, understandable analysis.
- Ad-hoc analyses as needed.
Specific Responsibilities
- Manage overall Trade Deduction levels.
- Production of monthly Trade financial reports.
- Conduct monthly Trade reviews to understand the overall financial position and rate variance to budget.
- Key contact for Interim and Year end Audit for Trade.
- Develop, analyze and review components of the Company’s annual budget and forecasts.
- Complete the Company’s monthly reporting including explaining variances compared to budget and/or forecasts and analyzing the full year impact of the variances.
- Help develop and maintain modeling tools and reports that identify relevant trends and issues surrounding the profitability of the Company.
- Ensure the integrity of various analysis tools through periodic reviews of the base data.
- Continuous improvement of process currently used in reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
- Support Finance Manager on various analytical initiatives and ad hoc reporting.
Education/Skill Requirements
- Accounting degree in accounting or finance.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a financial or accounting-related position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong Proficiency in SAP-BW.
- Proficiency in TPM / CBP (Trade Promotion Management) system.
- Trade Spend and Variance Analysis experience is an asset.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to continual learning / skill building.
- High energy, self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Able to handle multiple priorities and meet all deadlines.
- CPG experience.
- Works well in a team environment.
