##Job Summary
The University of the Fraser Valley Athletics and Campus Recreation Department is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach. This is a contract position, and reports jointly to the Head Men's Volleyball Coach, Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation. The description of responsibilities below is intended to be descriptive but not necessarily an all-inclusive list of responsibilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Head Coach with all operations of running a successful volleyball program
Assists with the development and supervision of the student-athletes in the Men’s Volleyball program.
Assists with organizing, conducting, and supervising all practices and matches.
Assists with recruitment an retention of quality student-athletes under the guidelines established by the University, USPORTS, Canada West Conference,and the University of the Fraser Valley.
The assistant coach assists in the development of schedules for practices, exhibition and league games and tournaments.
Assists with budgetary responsibilities including recruitment, team travel, and equipment. Monitor student-athlete academic progress.
Participates in community fund-raising efforts and public relations.
Be the Tournament Coordinator for 4 tournaments a year that are used for fundraising efforts.
Utilizes VolleyMetrics and VolleyStation to formulate offensive match plans
Be the lead skills coach in individualized training environments to improve the athletes technical abilities
Be available to travel on weekends for matches and recruiting events.
##Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as written and oral communication skills
Ability to work non-traditional schedules, including nights and weekends
A dedication to the success of student-athletes in their academic and athletic endeavors, and a commitment to integrity, general equity, and diversity
Have played as a setter in USPORTS and/or a professional league (national team experience will be an asset)
Have a vast knowledge and experience with the Setting position Experience with VolleyStation and VolleyMetrics
