Position Summary:
The Outreach Coordinator will support the delivery of the 2026 Community Challenge. In advance of the Challenge launch in June, the coordinator will focus on outreaching to local organizations that are eligible to participate in the Community Challenge, in particular schools, municipalities and organizations that serve newcomers and other equity-deserving groups.
The Community Challenge helps promote and facilitate low-barrier, inclusive sport and physical activity opportunities for people living in Canada. It assists communities in building capacity at the local level for sport and physical activity, while increasing participation rates among equity-deserving groups (Black, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQQIA+, low income, disability, and newcomers).
Position Key Responsibilities:

Conduct research to identify national and local organizations that serve newcomers and other equity-deserving groups.

Cultivate relationships with identified organizations such as schools and municipalities through targeted outreach (email and phone) and solicit their participation in the Community Challenge.

Respond to incoming inquiries about the Community Challenge and/or grant program, while providing organizations with the necessary support and resources.

Assist with partnership development by identifying organizations that would enhance ParticipACTION’s communication efforts and the engagement of schools, municipalities, newcomers and other equity-deserving groups in the Community Challenge.

Support grant administration and outreach (i.e. responding to inquiries, assistance with online grant application, updating recipient contact information, grant reviews etc.)

Track and manage organization database.

Contribute to the projects team as needed, supporting various initiatives and activities.
Education
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Health, Recreation, Kinesiology, Physical Activity, Sport, or related fields.
- Candidates with relevant experience or coursework in non-profit management, communications, marketing, event/project management, or program coordination
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
- Strong relationship-building and outreach skills.
- Ability to conduct informative research.
- Effective organization and record keeping skills.
- Previous experience within the equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) realm is an asset.
- Fluency in French is an asset.
