About the role: Reporting to the Senior Lead, Projects, the Lead, Projects is responsible for the management and execution of predominantly instream projects to support fish and fish habitat planning and stream remediation projects. You will lead projects from initial scoping through execution and into operations and monitoring, working closely with EVR’s Sustainable Development teams and various internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes

You will need to establish strong relationships and collaborate with individuals across the organization to build and lead project teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Manage projects utilizing EVR’s project development framework from scoping through engineering, execution (field construction) and into monitoring
  • Schedule and plan resources required to successfully support all project aspects including permitting, sediment and erosion control, fish exclusion, fish salvage and relocation, and instream works
  • Develop and maintain project scopes, budgets and schedules
  • Coordinate and manage multiple consultants, contractors and internal subject matter experts across a range of disciplines including but not limited to terrestrial and aquatic sciences, restoration ecology, fisheries biology, hydrology, geomorphology and civil execution
  • Manage project changes, risk, and decisions through efficient decision processes, information gathering, collaboration and analysis
  • Collaborate with mine operations to ensure safe and efficient management of contractors and consultants
  • Cultivate a culture of strong integration and collaboration with planning teams, regulatory approvals, and other internal groups to ensure alignment and engagement throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements:

  • Degree in Earth Science, Engineering (Civil, Environmental), Forestry, Biology or environmental-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum three years of experience in aquatic or environmental project management
  • Professional accreditation, such as PMP, PBio, PAg, or registered, or eligible for registration, as a P.Eng with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia considered an asset
  • Technical knowledge and demonstrated experience in the fisheries discipline, field monitoring and sampling programs, preferably in a resources management or mining environment
  • Working knowledge of provincial (Water Sustainability Act) and federal regulatory approvals (Fisheries Act) practices, legislation, and regulations, in particular related to instreams works
  • Project work experience including project management, engineering design, ecological design, and on-site construction
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various groups to efficiently execute field programs in a variety of weather/seasonal settings
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both formal and informal settings
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite®: Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, SharePoint and Word and Adobe
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
