VDK Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchaser to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring materials and components are available to support our production needs. Your work will play a key role in maintaining efficient inventory levels, securing competitive pricing, and ensuring a smooth and reliable supply chain to support our production operations.
What You’ll Do
- Procure window and door components and hardware as required.
- Assist with inventory management and maintain accurate purchasing records.
- Track purchase orders and ensure products are received and properly updated in the system.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding orders and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with production management to ensure the timely arrival of materials.
- Support the estimating team when required.
- Help maintain positive customer relations by ensuring purchasing and scheduling align with VDK Group’s production needs.
What You’ll Bring
- Post-secondary education related to business, supply chain, or a similar field is an asset
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a windows and doors environment is considered a strong asset
- Previous purchasing or procurement experience is preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to take initiative and support purchasing operations and administrative requirements related to VDK door production
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
