As General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the company, which includes two well-established and respected brands. You will be fully accountable for the company’s performance, strategic direction, and continued success.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a dynamic General Manager with a growth mindset to lead Function Software through its continued success in the Creative industry. This executive role requires a strategic thinker with at least 15 years of experience, including a minimum of 10 years in senior management roles encompassing various business operation areas. You will be managing all aspects of the Company comprising of two long established and strong brands in the industry, with full accountability for the results and success of the Company.
Reporting directly to the Group Manager, this executive position is best suited for an ambitious candidate who can capitalize on the potential of an exciting and virtually unlimited market to scale Function Software through driving and developing the value wedge.
A day in the life:
Leadership
- Manage several departmental teams (sales & marketing, customer service, professional services, software development, product management and finance).
- Create an environment where people feel valued, are crazy productive, and love their jobs.
- Own the long-range, annual and quarterly financial and non-financial goals.
- Develop and communicate a clear vision of goals and objectives, strategies, philosophies about growth, revenue generation and profitability, customer care agenda.
- Generate, maintain and review with management, annual, quarterly and monthly revenue statistics (leading and lagging indicators) on financial statistics, productivity rates, customer satisfaction trends and overall improvement trends.
- Be hands-on in day-to-day operations including sales performance, sales opportunity management, forecasting, R&D capacity management, services resourcing, customer support, and customer project delivery.
- Identify and communicate risks/issues and action on mitigation/remediation plans.
- Become a subject matter expert on the market, the product, and the competition.
- Lead by example through a customer-centered paradigm.
Sales & Marketing . Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Sales to:
- Drive the marketing and sales group to increase new name customer acquisition and expand back to base sales.
- Develop and maintain competitive intelligence programs and generate industry direction reports to support development of new features and products.
Custo mer Success . Work closely with the Director of Customer Experience to:
- Execute an effective long-term customer care program for clients to improve and maintain a high NPS.
- Provide timely and effective customer support.
- Facilitate client training sessions and regional events.
- Monitor and produce documentation on Customer Care metrics relating to program usage, satisfaction levels, ticket throughput and resolution.
- Coordinate the administration of annual customer satisfaction and information gathering surveys and other communication tools.
- Provide additional consultative services to clients while meeting Professional Services revenue targets and high utilization.
Product and R&D . Work closely with the Chief of Product and Technology Officer to:
- Align the organization on a Product-driven paradigm with a clear vision of the two brand offers in the market that echoes the voice of the customer.
- Ensure clear product roadmaps are established, followed and adapted to respond to market needs.
- Maintain on-time, on-budget and to-scope delivery of roadmap items by the development teams.
- Deliver new product go-to-market strategies that guides Customer Success and Sales & Marketing efforts.
- Balance the investment in R&D with the investment in maintenance to maximize new name growth and retention of existing customers while ensuring a streamlined Customer Care and R&D operation.
Finance . Work closely with the Director of Finance to:
- Review business financial performance and execute necessary corrective action with the rest of the leadership team.
- Create and maintain annual, quarterly and monthly revenue results/forecasts and costs.
- Participate in the development of internal department policies and programs to support effective financial management and integrity.
PREREQUISITES
Strong strategic thinking and business acumen complemented by:
- Prior experience in the B2B software/SaaS industry.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and in leadership roles.
- Expert knowledge and success in sales, marketing, technical delivery, customer care, customer success, product or development strategies, as well as strong business acumen.
- Excellent communication, both orally and in writing with outstanding presentation skills – pivotal to this role is an ability to build relationships with C-suite.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically about new bookings, value wedge, customer, market, and business issues; innovative and adept at problem solving.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science/ engineering, IT or another related field.
