Regional Pharmacy Manager
About the role
Position Overview
Reporting to the Regional Director, Pharmacy, the incumbent is responsible and accountable for the planning and management of patient-centered pharmaceutical care services designed for their assigned regional clinical programs and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
As a member of the Department’s Leadership Team, the incumbent ensures that pharmaceutical care services are aligned with strategic priorities and meet high-standards of quality and patient safety.
The incumbent oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinical pharmacy team and leads the clinical pharmacy staff in establishing efficient and effective delivery of clinical services. These services will ensure a safe, timely, and cost-effective medication management system that supports patient-centered pharmaceutical care.
Experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience as a practicing pharmacist is required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, or equivalent undergraduate pharmacy degree is required.
- Post-graduate education/training in a relevant field of study and/or completion of a pharmacy practice residency program is preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Licensed, or eligibility for licensure, as a pharmacist in the Province of Manitoba.
- Membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated poise, aptitude for communicating professional information, and ability to deal with matters of an urgent or emergent nature.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to utilize information systems technologies for communication, word processing, spreadsheet applications, and other common needs.
- Ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with other individuals in superior, peer, subordinate and client positions.
- Demonstrated interest in professional growth.
- Demonstrated commitment to optimizing the contribution that pharmacy services can make to the care of individual patients and to the healthcare system as a whole.
- Must be able to travel to multiple sites within the WRHA and have a valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle.
