About the role
Position Information:
The Master of Social Work (MSW) located at the Wellness Centre will provide therapy for clients receiving care at the Wellness Centre under the Terms & Conditions outlined by the Ministry of Health for Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub care providers.
The MSW must be able to function independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, working cooperatively with multiple service providers and community partners.
The MSW will follow Recovery Principles to provide high quality assessment and therapy using a variety of individual and group therapy techniques. They will also participate in the education of staff, students, and the larger community.

Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university

Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification preferred
-
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training certification preferred
-
Trauma-Informed Care training certification preferred
-
3-5 years relevant mental health and addictions experience

Ability to research, create and implement new policies and procedures

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information and data systems

Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills/qualities

Superior interpersonal skills

Superior written and verbal communication skills are mandatory

Excellent ability to maintain, monitor and report on data requirements

Demonstrated ability to deal congenially with a variety of people efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision

Organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle and respect confidential information with fact and diplomacy are essential

Consult with Director of Mental Health Services or assigned delegate, when administrative, therapeutic, or legal matters could result in significant or serious outcome to client, hospital, and/or clinicians

Carry out other duties as required by the Director of Mental Health Service or assigned delegate

Maintain positive interpersonal working relationships and adhere to Code of Conduct

Actively participate in supervision, professional development and self-assessment aimed at developing/enhancing own professional skills

A new 178 bed capacity, full-service community hospital opened on August 26, 2011.
